Hypnotherapy
For over 200 year the technique of hypnosis has been used in medicine to treat a wide range of physical, psychological and emotional issues. It has also been long recognised that hypnosis may successfully be combined with other approaches and techniques in counselling and psychotherapy to bring about positive and lasting change.
Hypnosis customarily creates a deeply relaxed state in which mental stress and bodily tension are reduced. We all experience ‘hypnotic trance’ in our day to day lives eg when relaxing in a warm bath, while watching television, losing a sense of time if engrossed in a good novel and if engaged in a routine activity. Hypnotic techniques are used to produce this relaxed state, during which the mind is usually more open to the process of change. Therefore client and therapist can work together, using as agreed approach, to enhance mental, physical and emotional well being. Positive and lasting results are achieved in the following.
Cessation of dependencies and habits
(Smoking, weight management, nail biting)
Optimising psychological well-being
(Stress and anger management)
Managing stress related disorders
(Phobias, panic attacks, insomnia, irritable bowel syndrome)
Achieving Personal Growth
(Self-esteem, relationship issues, career and sports performance)
Managing personal crises
(Trauma, bereavement, redundancy, divorce, coping with illness/pain)
